Nice people doing nice things

Jens and Francisca are two of the most lovely people I know. They are totally keeping it real and at the same time spreading large amounts of love. They recently moved from Barcelona back to Francisca's home in Portugal to begin a project called Quinta Das Praias. A place for us all to go and get creative.
Christian, Maya, Sam, Sass and I are heading off on a roadtrip in less than a month,eeeee so exciting! We are eating our way around Spain and down into Portugal and without a doubt we will be stopping off to visit Jens and Francisca at Quinta Das Praias.

Lolita Bakery

The past three days I spent my mornings in the Social Security office ¡Que rollo! It was a real pain. They were trying to get me to pay 210 extra eurobucks for blah, blah, blah. Anyway I was lucky enough to find a very nice lady named Flor. She went out of her way to help me save 80 euros, that was the best she could do and I was very happy with that. I decided that seeing how Flor has made such a big effort to help me I wanted to get her a little thank you something, so I headed straight to Lolita Bakery




Asides from the cream cheese icing, this is my other favourite thing about Lolita. Look how excellnt it is!!

Black Jewls

Julie Parker is the amazing designer/silversmith behind Black Jewls' - A Little Extra Anatomy. Which is the latest member of the Heartcore family. Home away from home

I am so happy that some great Aussie owned joints are appearing around Barcelona. I really miss home at times and it's so nice to know that I can now pop around the corner for a lamington. Federal Café is my new favourite spot for coffee,.They use fresh milk, which is hard to come by in Spain. A friend of mine Maya took me there for the first time and I have been hooked ever since.




Maya and I used to live together, We shared a house with many different people over 4 years, one of those people being Vince. Vince has been telling Maya and I that he found the best burgers in town. And it's Aussie owned! So off we went to taste the best burgers in town. He was so right about them being the best. Kiosko is the spot to head to if you want a good burger in Barcelona!

Pancake Zoo

Mr Prawn AKA Shawn has finally come down from the japanese mountains and is back on the Pancake Zoo tip. Soon we will be seeing the new Pancake Zoo range and that is pretty bloody exciting. Here is the older Pancake Zoo crew.

Ned from Melbourne has come up with a damn fine product called Zip Zip. Team Zip Zip are doing an awesome job and things just keep getting more and more fun in the USB department.

Next comes Ask Alice! A super special stationery brand born in Melbourne, Australia 2009 by a lovely little lady named Sass. Ask Alice is 100% eco friendly, tree hugging stationery right down the biodegradable greeting card sleeves made from corn. Oh how we love corn!

The Heartcore Family

Heartcore Pins find nice things and spread the love around Spain. At the moment the Heartcore family consists of Ask Alice, Zip Zip, Two Lovers, Pancake Zoo, Black Jewls and Heartcore Pins. I must say they are all very nice things! Lets start with how it all began.

Heartcore Pins travels the world hunting and gathering unique and fun fabrics. We then bring our special fabrics home to Barcelona and hand make pins and other crafty things. As my fabric collection slowly grows so does the Heartcore range. We now have pins, mirrors, magnets and pouches and there is definitely more to come.
